1. Introduction[Top]

[Folder Encryption Dog Premium V3.3] is a Folders' data access control and encryption utility designed for Windows 98/Me/2000/XP/Server 2003/Windows Vista/Win7. It lets you password protect, hide, and encrypt data of folders in hard disk or portable disk. Without password, nobody is able to delete, move or copy the files in protected folders.

If you have private and important documents to protect, please try this tool, you will find it to be very powerful, helpful, and simple-to-use.

Simple-to-use: Copy the soft to the folder being protected, input password,push the button "Encrypt",that is OK!
What happens as follows:
* Everything in the protected folder disappears except for the soft.
* The protected folder can not be deleted, moved or copied.

Main features include:

* Support to encrypt/decrypt a batch of folders once.

2. Main Function[Top]

To run the soft, you should extract the downloaded file: DirWatchdogVista.zip. After extraction you'll get two files:DirWatchdogPre.exe,UserGuide.htm.
In default mode, the encryption/decryption function operates on the folder where the "DirWatchdogPre.exe" lies. The following explanation is based on this case.
However, you can browser another folder to be operated by click the radio "Browser and specify another folder ".

Encrypt

Copy the extracted program "DirWatchdogPre.exe" into the folder to be protected and run it
->Input password(must not be less than 3 characters) twice ->Push "Encrypt" button.
* To avoid some trouble, encrypting the whole partition is forbidden!
* To enhance the security, you can choose "High Density Encryption" for folders with vital data!

Decrypt

If the soft is not in the protected folder,copy one and run it->Input password ->Push "Decrypt" button.

Administrate

Set/modify/Cancel Login Password!To avoid others use the soft to encrypt your folders without authorization,you had better set a login password.

Access

If the folder has been protected,run the soft->Input password->Push "Access" button.
*You can open the item in the list table by double click!
*You can select one item in the list table by click,
then export or delete the item by push "Save As" or "Delete" button.
*You can move other files or folders into the protected folder and hide them
by push "Move File In" or "Move Folder In" button.

**Advanced function

For users who are familar with command line in DOS environment.
*You can encrypt/decrypt a batch of folders once by bat files in dos command windows.
*You can call this program in another program by command line.
On vista system, you must select "Run as administrator" on the context menu to run dos command window as a administrator.
command format:
DirWatchdogVista folder_path?X:password
DirWatchdogVista-the exe file of this program
parameters:
folder_path-the folder to be operated
password-the password to proctect the folder
X-operation mode
1-encrypt;0-decrypt
Use "?" to seperate folder_path with operation mode;
Use ":" to seperate operation mode with password.
1).Encrypt
e.g:
DirWatchdogPre.exe locates in d:\,to encrypt the folder C:\test
First enter dos command line environment,then input following commands:
>d:(Enter)
d:\>DirWatchdogVista C:\test?1:123(Enter)
2).Decrypt
First enter dos command line environment,then input following commands:
>d:(Enter)
d:\>DirWatchdogVista C:\test?0:123(Enter)
3).Encrypt a batch of folders
create a bat file, save as XX.bat
The content of bat file used to encrypt 3 folders C:\test,c:\abc and c:\123 is as follows:
DirWatchdogVista C:\test?1:123
DirWatchdogVista C:\abc?1:123
DirWatchdogVista C:\123?1:123
Save this file as encode.bat
Assuming that "DirWatchdogPre.exe" locates in D:\
First enter dos command line environment,then input following commands:
>d:(Enter)
d:\>encode(Enter)
4).Decrypt a batch of folders
Like encryption,but "1"->"0" in the bat file
